Scleroderma is a complex disease and affects peoples’ lives in many different ways. It affects work, relationships, family dynamics, can cause disability and depression. The medical aspect can be overwhelming, finding the right doctors, understanding the technical details, treatments, keeping up with appointments and medications. I have experienced this full range of issues.

My goal is to talk to people to share my experiences, provide information on important Scleroderma topics, and help them solve problems by finding solutions that best fit their situations. Everyone’s situation is different.

Talks can be on specific topics like the latest research and treatments, disability, going back to work after disability, navigating the health insurance maze, etc. Sometimes people just want to hear other people’s stories; I can tell my story of cancer then Scleroderma, my experience with disability, medicare, social security, and my interaction with my healthcare providers. Talks can also be on the latest technological advancements in medicine like 3D printing of organs.
